A close-up study of a Kākā parrot. It is in very dark surroundings, almost black, and only the head and upper body are visible, along with one foot. The foot is holding some food which it is eating, head down. The bird, although mostly hidden in darkness, has mottled feathers, with red and orange on the cheeks and a silvery sheen on top of its head.
