Runabout

When I saw this little aeroplane, I didn’t recognise the type but assumed it was something fairly modern. Nope! This Cessna 177B Cardinal is almost as old as me!

A small single-engined aircraft is sitting on an airport apron seen from ahead and to the left. It is a high-winged design with a tricycle landing gear featuring spatted wheels. The aircraft is predominantly white with dark blue on the spinner and top of the nose. The same blue features in a broad stripe on the side of the fuselage which comes to a point under the side window and is surrounded by a lighter blue stripe that reaches the noise in a point. The nearest main wheel has red chocks placed on either side of the wheels. In the background, there are industrial buildings, two large cylindrical storage tanks, a white airport bus labeled “Tranzit," and a rocky, grassy hillside. Also visible are multiple standard airport signs marking runways and taxiways. The weather is clear and sunny.
