It’s Real

Not an outlandish movie prop nor kid’s toy at all.

It’s an Aussie design based on a Kiwi design based on an Aussie design that was basically a welded steel tank fitted for flight.

Aircraft exhibit in a museum hangar. The main focus is a small, unusual-looking airplane with a blue nose, white body, and orange stripes. Its cockpit is set far forward, and the wings are mounted low on the fuselage. In front of the plane, there is an aircraft instrument panel displayed on a table, along with several information stands.

To the right, there is a model or small yellow biplane with the markings "SLZZN" and "NZ775" on its wings. In the background, several other vintage aircraft are visible, including a yellow seaplane and another plane with a red tail. The hangar is well-lit, with corrugated metal walls and aviation posters on the back wall. The floor is concrete, and the area is roped off to keep visitors at a distance from the displays.
