Kōkako

Still on my bucket list to see in the wild, this stuffed specimen was at Te Wairoa Buried Village, near Rotorua.

The image shows a taxidermy display of a bird perched on a branch. The bird is gray with a slightly darker shade on its wings and tail. It has a black beak and has small, bright blue fleshy sacs at the base of its beak. The background is a painted or printed scene depicting a lush, green forest with various shades of green and some indistinct trees. The lighting is focused on the bird, highlighting its features against the darker background. There is a small black label with the number "3" on it attached to the branch.
