Tuna

Before you think I’m crazy… tuna is the Māori word for these eels. They inhabit the stream adjacent to a park near my home.

The image shows a group of large, dark-colored eels swimming in shallow, clear water. Their bodies are long and slender with smooth skin. They are gathered closely together over a bed of small pebbles and rocks, which are visible through the water. The water has a slight greenish tint, and the fish are casting faint shadows on the rocky bottom.
