I don’t know the actual numbers, but I would guess the Lockheed P-3B/K/K2 Orion fleet would have had the highest hours of any type in the modern RNZAF.

Here, NZ4206 shows its worn paint as it taxies by me at the RNZAF Base Auckland Open Day, 2009. It was the newest of the RNZAF’s Orions β€” 19 years newer if counted by its RNZAF life, but in fact it was bought second hand from the RAAF in 1985, having been delivered to them only a year after the last of the RNZAF’s new-bought.

Only the front of the aircraft is in frame, as it taxies along the runway, about to pass the photographer. It is a mid-grey and very worn on the top of the fuselage. A darker grey "06" is above the cockpit and on the nose gear door. The airfield grass is green with yellow dandelions. Behind are conifer trees and a tumultuous sky of dark and light clouds.
