Europe!

A real treat for today’s random air show photo — it was the last weekend of a business trip to the UK in 2001, and I managed to get myself to the world-renowned Duxford Airfield for the Duxford Spring Air Show!

Pictured are Messerschmitt Bf.108 Taifun, G-ATBG, and Fiat G.46, G-BBII. Just visible is the nose of a Spitfire which I think is Lf Mk.IX, G-ASJV.

The two aircraft are in period schemes — the Messerschmitt a mottled grey with yellow spinner, the Fiat green with brown splotches and yellow forward cowl and spinner. People are standing around the Fiat. Both are sitting on grass next to a sealed taxiway. The sky is a dull overcast.
