China Syndrome

Today’s random air show photo depicts Nanchang CJ-6, ZK-STP. It is one of the select number of aircraft specially licensed not to wear its official registration, carrying only its fictional identity number “1232011” of the China People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF).

The aircraft is seen just after takeoff at Classic Fighters 2007, at Omaka.

The aircraft is dark blue with red and yellow Vietnamese "star and bar" markings, a large white "11" on the nose, and a longer number in white on the tail. It has just taken off, against a clear blue sky and the hills behind.
